Born in 1982, Serdar Başoğlu graduated from the Department of Finance at Karadeniz Technical University in 2003 and completed his master's degree in Business Administration at Bülent Ecevit University in 2013. To strengthen his career at an international level, he also completed the “Management Essentials” program at Cornell University.

Başoğlu began his career in 2004 at Ereğli Iron and Steel Works Inc. (Erdemir), where between 2004 and 2008 he gained experience in accounting, financial analysis, financing, budgeting, reporting, and treasury operations. Starting in 2008, he played an active role in establishing the centralized treasury management structure within OYAK Mining Metallurgy, subsequently serving as Treasury Manager, Treasury Director, and Finance Director.

Since 2020, Başoğlu has been serving as Deputy Head of Financial Management and Administrative Affairs at OYAK Mining Metallurgy. As of 2024, he also holds positions as a Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Director (Murahhas Aza) at Erdemir and İsdemir. Recognized among the “Top 50 Most Effective CFOs in Turkey,” Başoğlu is married and fluent in English.
